Your child participated in a lesson called Needs and Wants. Additionally, the book “Those Shoes” was read to them. In first grade, students learned the definitions of needs and wants. In addition, they learned to make a choice based on wants and needs. In second grade, students examined advertisements to determine if the products sold were wants or needs. Second grade students then designed their own advertisement to market either a want or a need.
