Summary
Your child participated in a lesson all about counting money. In addition, the book “You Can’t Buy a Dinosaur with a Dime!” was read to them. As a part of this lesson, your child practiced counting money by using skip counting. Skip counting means counting by a certain number such as 5’s or 10’s. Students in first grade practiced skip counting by 10 to count dimes, and students in second grade practiced skip counting by 5 and 10 to count different combinations of nickels and dimes.
