Abstract

Many nursery pests inhabit or damage tree trunks. The purpose of this publication is to educate growers and extension personnel about 1) the implications of trunk damage and common trunk pests encountered in nurseries in Tennessee and surrounding states, 2) the methods used to prevent and control trunk pests, and 3) examine the opportunity that intelligent, variable-rate spray technology may have for ornamental nurseries for controlling these pests.
