Abstract

The Entomosporium leaf spot is a widespread disease affecting landscape ornamentals, caused by the fungus Diplocarpon mespili. This plant pathogen can infect all members of the rose family in nurseries and landscapes, including photinia, hawthorn, and flowering pear, the disease is particularly destructive on photinia plants. Red-tip photinia cultivar is the hybrid species that is most susceptible to this disease.
