Abstract

Corn silage is crucial for dairy cow diets, with optimal harvesting based on whole plant dry matter content. Low DM can reduce starch availability, necessitate additional supplements, and increase risk of leachate and slower fermentation. High DM can lead to mold and yeast potential.
