Abstract
The effects of heat stress continue to threaten poultry production in the U.S. and around the globe. Heat stress (HS) is a condition in which animals are unable to dissipate excess heat in their bodies to the surrounding environment resulting in an increase in body temperature. It is reported that in the United States, an estimated $128 to 165 million is lost annually by the poultry industry due to heat stress effects, making it essential to find mitigatory strategies.
