Abstract

Feeder cattle genomic tests (GTs) are used by producers to make marketing and heifer retention decisions based on expected performance. Neogen's Igenity Feeder Cattle Test and Zoetis' Inherit Select Heifer Selection Tool provide genomic expected progeny differences (EPDs) for various traits. However, the cost of GTs has declined, highlighting the need for further research on their benefits.
