Includes review of vector operations, Free Body Diagrams, forces and moments (torque) in static equilibrium, two-dimensional linkages, friction, center of mass, and other concepts relevant to construction. Emphasis on unit conversion and computation using calculators and spreadsheets.

Introduction to the basic principles of sustainable construction with environmental impacts and considerations in the construction industry. Focus on technologies and practices to mitigate environmental impacts and programs that assess the environmental quality of construction projects. Additional consideration for evolving technologies to support sustainable construction.
